John Loftus is a 1996 graduate of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Arts in Dover, New Jersey. John has worked in a wide variety of artistic disciplines from product design to multimedia. He currently resides in Aptos, CA with his wife, three children, and three dogs. Besides his full-time illustration career, John is also currently penciling on a new comic book with writer/illustrator Shane Hill.
Alongside the intense amount of illustration training we all received at the Kubert School, it was also a major launch pad for many of my long lasting friendships I still have today. John and his beautiful and incredibly talented wife Jade are two of those people. (Oh yeah, John. That’s some serious sucking up I’m doing right there. HA!)
I had many great times hangout will John in college and was fortunate enough to get to relive the old days when a bunch of us from the class of ’96 met up for our twenty-year reunion in New Jersey. We all drank, talked comics, watched tv, and ate a lot of pizza. Yep, pretty much how college went.
Below is a mix of some of the stunning art John has been creating over the years. His work never stops impressing me. From incredible pencils to beautifully painted illustrations!
Thanks John, for making the LDMC issue one that much better of a book.
